Dext document capture support for cleaner bookkeeping.
Dext helps businesses capture receipts, supplier bills and supporting documents before they become missing paperwork. We help set up Dext workflows, train teams, review document capture processes and connect Dext properly to the bookkeeping routine.
Why this tool
Why we support Dext
Dext is useful for businesses where receipts, supplier bills and supporting documents are regularly missed, delayed or sent in different formats. It helps move document collection away from email chains, paper receipts and last-minute chasing.
We support Dext where it fits the client’s bookkeeping process. The value is not just using the app, it is having a clear routine for who uploads documents, how they are reviewed and how they connect into the accounting software.

Proof
Case study & results
Document capture and staff submission process improved through Dext.
A third sector organisation needed a better way to collect receipts, invoices and supporting documents from multiple staff members. Documents were not being submitted consistently, which created extra admin and made audit and year-end support harder than necessary.
We introduced a clearer Dext workflow, trained staff on how to submit documents correctly and connected the process into the regular bookkeeping routine. This helped improve document capture, reduce query time and create cleaner records for reporting and audit support.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What does Dext cost?
Subscription from Dext directly is typically £15–£25 per month per business. Our setup fee is £500–£1,500 depending on complexity.
Dext or AutoEntry?
Both work. Dext is our default — better UX, stronger ecosystem. AutoEntry is fine, particularly for Sage users.
Will the OCR really work?
With proper rules setup, 90%+ of transactions auto-categorise correctly. The remaining 10% take seconds to fix.
Is the data HMRC-compliant?
Yes — Dext stores digital copies meeting HMRC’s record-keeping requirements. Saves you keeping paper copies.
What about employee expenses?
Yes — the Dext mobile app handles employee expense claims and pushes them through to payroll if needed.
